Tutoring

Our tutors will work directly with your child to increase problem-solving skills, improve grades in specific subjects and develop study habits in a structured environment. Working directly with teachers and parents, we provide the skills children need to increase their confidence. Kids Can tutoring services are offered on-site at two area schools (Ashland Park/Robbins and Pawnee Elementary) and three afternoons each week at Kids Can (4860 Q Street).

What is the cost of the program?

Tutoring services are provided free to the community, although a small transportation fee will be applied to those students wishing to utilizing Kids Can transportation. Please contact us for further details. Nutritious after school snacks are provided at no cost, of course!

How can I volunteer?

If you are interested in volunteering for the program, let us know! All tutors complete an annual application and screening process with training provided.   For more information please contact Kandi Holmes at 731-6988 or email tutoring@kidscanomaha.org.

Signing Up

You may stop in anytime to fill out registration forms. We must have the completed forms as well as a copy of your children’s immunization records. Your deposit, registration fee and first week’s payments will be due before your child begins. You can directly download a registration packet, contract, cacfp form and program policies. Contact Stephanie Klaassen, Youth Development Manager, at 731-6988 ext 214 or at sklaassen@kidscanomaha.org. We are a state-licensed childcare (provider #77283875), Title XX payments are accepted. You may also use your debit or credit card for payments by clicking here.

Bad Weather Closing

We follow the OPS schedule for emergency closings (i.e. snow or heat days). For example, if OPS announces that schools will be closed because of snow, Kids Can programs will be closed as well. However, we do offer half day and full day programs for pre-determined OPS closings (parent teacher conferences, in-service days, spring and winter breaks, etc.)
