Mission & Programs
At Kids Can Community Center, our mission is to empower children and parents to reach their potential and enable older adults to maintain their independence.
Formerly known as Social Settlement, in 2009 we concentrated on the identity and branding of our organization and as a result made the decision to change our name to Kids Can Community Center. The new name reflects both our children's programs (preschool, childcare, afterschool and tutoring) as well as our community services (senior transportation, tax assistance, food pantry referrals, computer classes). Our organization was named 2009 Nonprofit Organizaton of the Year by Greater Omaha Chamber.
